Here are the details of the course you would like to enrol on...
The principal objective of this course is to enable you to improve on your Chemistry grade from the summer and to help you achieve the grade you need for your chosen university course or career. This course is available to students who took Chemistry A level in June 2019 through any of the accredited examination boards.
You will follow the specification for OCR Syllabus Chemistry A. Consideration will be given to covering the specific parts of the syllabus not covered by other exam boards.
The lessons will be largely theory-based with emphasis on exam skills and application of knowledge. Practical skills knowledge is, however, very important as assessment of practical skills forms a minimum of 15% of the written assessment. This covers planning, implementation, analysis and evaluation and is common to all exam boards. You will be asked to provide a list of practicals you carried out during your Chemistry A level studies prior to starting the course so that your level of practical knowledge and experience can be used in the planning of the lessons.
Please note that the grade you receive on this course will be your final grade even if this is lower than your original.
It is assumed that you have achieved the practical endorsement component of the A level. This is transferrable across exam boards.
You will have online access to the OCR Chemistry resources.
If you intend to sit the exam at Hills Road, please note that the exam entry fee is expected to be £161.81. This will be payable in the spring term.
